The main measure that must be adopted in any place where dust is generated is to act on the source of dust emission to prevent it from remaining in suspension and mitigate it as soon as possible.
Water misting using cannons can reduce the amount of dust up to 11 times.
How to suppress or eliminate suspended dust?
When dust is already airborne, the goal is to mitigate it by causing droplets to collide with and adhere (clump) to dust particles, eventually falling out of the air.
Droplets in the 2–20 μm range have been shown to be the most effective. If the droplet diameter is much larger than that of the dust particle, the latter will simply follow the airflow around the droplet. On the other hand, if the water droplet is of a size comparable to that of the dust particle, contact will occur.
Therefore, for optimal agglomeration, the sizes of particles and water droplets should be approximately equivalent.

Spraystream against Silicosis
We assume that dust particles have different sizes. The problem with very small particles (<10μm) is that they are inhaled because they are imperceptible to the body's natural defense barriers. These small particles, upon entering the nose, are not trapped and circulate to the respiratory system, reaching the lungs.
It is important to have systems that reduce the amount of suspended particles to prevent the appearance of different diseases, such as silicosis.
